PKK man murders estranged wife

A 60-year-old man has been arrested after stabbing his estranged wife 11 times, fatally wounding her in their home in Prachuap Khiri Khan. Their son has spoken out, revealing that his father was deeply addicted to gambling.

The attack took place at around 5:30 am Tuesday in Ban Na Thong, Khlong Wan subdistrict, Mueang Prachuap Khiri Khan. The suspect, identified as Sumpan Siangsai, used a newly purchased 50-centimeter knife to stab his wife, 53-year-old Sangwan Sualek, in the torso, with multiple wounds penetrating her heart and lungs. The Central Administrative Court is being asked to examine a 3.7-billion-baht lawsuit filed by solar farm developer SPCG Plc against the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) for allegedly unfairly discontinuing the company’s solar farm project in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC).

Thai nominee crackdown uncovers tourism, property chaos

Authorities have announced progress in a crackdown on foreigners using Thai nominees to illegally run businesses, focusing on tourism and real estate. Between September 2024 and January 2025, a multi-agency taskforce led by the Commerce Ministry prosecuted 820 illegal nominee businesses, with estimated damages totaling 12.5 billion baht, officials revealed on Monday.

Thailand’s oldest human skeleton found in Sam Roi Yot National Park

A pre-historic human skeleton from the Palaeolithic period, believed to be more than 29,000 years old, was recently found in a limestone cave, about 125 meters above mean sea level, in the Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park in Sam Roi Yot district of Prachuap Khiri Khan province.

Phanombootra Chantarachot, director-general of Fine Arts Department, and Chidchanok Sukmongkol, deputy director-general of the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, told the media that, in addition to the skeleton, several pre-historic paintings were found on the cave walls. Truck falls through damaged bridge in Prachuap Khiri Khan

Three days after warnings were issued about the condition of a bridge in Bang Saphan district, Prachuap Khiri Khan province, a truck carrying rubber wood fell through a large hole on Saturday.

Prior to the collapse, a local had posted warnings on Feb. 19 about the deteriorating state of the bridge in a Facebook group. The post alerted residents in Prachuap Khiri Khan to the risks on the elevated U-turn road on Phetkasem road, leading to the first Huakheun bridge, which had previously been rebuilt but quickly became unusable once again. Baht Poised for Dip to 35 per USD by Mid-2025

New bus service between Hua Hin, Don Mueang Airport in Bangkok

The new first-class bus service between Don Mueang Airport and Hua Hin will offer two round trips daily. The fare would be 200 baht each way and would take three-and-a-half hours. The Hua Hin departure will be from the current Transport Co. terminal just north of Hua Hin Airport.

The new first-class bus service between Don Mueang Airport and Hua Hin will offer two round trips daily. The fare would be 200 baht each way and would take three-and-a-half hours. The Hua Hin departure will be from the current Transport Co. terminal just north of Hua Hin Airport.

Council of State Rejects Plan to Lower Electricity Bills

The Council of State, Thailand’s primary legal advisory body, has dismissed a proposal from the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) aimed at renegotiating contracts with renewable power firms to reduce electricity bills. Cabinet Set to Reject Casino Entry Rule for Thai Nationals

Thai Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has indicated that a contentious proposal regulating casino entry for Thai citizens is unlikely to win cabinet approval. Southeast Asia is responsible for nearly a quarter of global energy demand growth through 2035, but it is currently heavily dependent on imported fossil fuels and hydropower. New 1st-class bus service from Bangkok airports to Hua Hin, Pattaya

State-run Transport Co. will launch a first-class bus service from Don Mueang and Suvarnabhumi airports to Hua Hin and Pattaya on March 8.

There will be two round trips daily between Don Mueang airport and Hua Hin district in Prachuap Khiri Khan, a distance of 216 kilometers per trip. The fare would be 200 baht each way and would take three-and-a-half hours. Continued …

Industry restructuring is a key engine for driving the country’s economy, particularly in boosting the national GDP. For this reason, the Office of Industrial Economics (OIE) is advancing measures to restructure nine target industries as part of the policy “Industrial Reform for a Modern, Clean, Convenient, and Transparent Economy”, aiming to increase gross domestic product by at least 1%.

Unsafe levels of smog in 67 provinces

Sixty-seven out of 77 provinces in Thailand were shrouded with unsafe levels of ultrafine dust pollution this morning, according to the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA).

Operator of plastic waste warehouse that caught fire ‘violated industrial laws’

The operator of Teng Fa Plastic and Metal warehouse in Ban Paew district of Samut Sakhon province, which was engulfed in flames on Wednesday, was allegedly in violation of industrial laws, the Provincial Industry Office said.
