M&T Computer moving, Hua Hin Mall closing
Expat News has learned that Hua Hin Mall, located just north of the municipal office on Phetkasem Road, will be closing by December. Intown residents are most familiar with the grocery store, which generally has lower prices than Makro, or with the computer repair shop.
Many of the tenants have already moved out, with M&T Computer planning to relocate by Oct. 1 across from the Malee shopping center at 5/233 Soi Village, Khlong Chonprathan Road. M&T is where many people go for computer repairs and equipment. They can be reached at 089-174-0589 or 094-985-9947.
No word yet on where, of if, the grocery or the other stores at the mall will relocate.
Crackdown on nominee shareholders reaches Prachuap Khiri Khan
Thailand’s crackdown on nominee shareholders has now reached Prachuap Khiri Khan and Phetchaburi, with officials saying businesses located in both provinces are under investigation.

In Thailand’s eastern Chonburi province, the seawater of the upper Gulf is an alluring jade-green. On closer inspection, however, the water is dense, slimy, and smells of grass and dead fish — tell-tale signs that a plankton bloom is underway.
While marine animals such as fish and whales eat plankton, it can also prove toxic in large amounts. When a bloom occurs, it starves the ocean of oxygen, killing fish, shellfish and other creatures, which creates chaos in the natural food chain, as well as fisheries. Continued …

New “electrical” blue tarantula species found in Thailand
Entomologists in Thailand have been stunned by an electrifying new species of tarantula found in the southern part of the country.
The spider, known as the Chilobrachys natanicharum, has a “blue-violet hue resembling the color of electrical sparks,” researchers from the Entomology Museum at Khon Kaen University and the Natural History Museum of the National Science Museum said in a paper announcing the find. Diesel price to fall below Bt30 today
The domestic diesel price will be reduced by two baht a liter to 29.94 baht today, the oil retailers PTT and Bangchak announced on Tuesday night.

According to statistics from the Real Estate Information Center (REIC), Government Housing Bank (GH Bank), in the first six months of 2023, transfers of condominiums in Thailand by foreign clients increased by 14.7% compared to 2022, reaching 10.8% of the total.
