S.Ken’s Bistro also has an edible flower and herb farm

Chef Ken at S.Ken’s Bistro in Kao Tao is known for his use of flowers in his cuisine. Now the chef is growing his own edible flowers, both for his restaurant and for other dining establishments.

His Chivit Chiva farm exclusively harvests flowers, leaves, and herbs from these gardens, where harmful chemicals are not used, with only natural compost and fertilizers.

Assorted edible flowers are now available for Bt65 per 25-gram box, Bbt95 for a 45-gram box, and Bt125 for a 55-gram box.

Please check for availability when placing your order if you have specific requirements or preferences, as some edible flowers are more seasonal, while others are available year-round.

To ensure that the edible flowers and herbs are in the best shape and quality, they are picked and packed daily based on your order. Flower picking takes place in the very early morning, before 9 AM, so please place your order by 10 PM the night before. The flowers can be stored in the refrigerator crisper drawer or vegetable compartment for 4 to 7 days.

Lopburi Municipality captures 150 monkeys in new operation

Lopburi Municipality captured over 150 monkeys in the first two days of a new operation aimed at controlling the monkey population in the city. The goal is to capture at least 500 monkeys within 10 days, with support from 12 military personnel from the 13th Military Circle.

The Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation (DNP), in collaboration with the Lopburi Municipality, initiated the operation after completing the construction of additional cages. War on PM2.5: Farmers burning their fields to be denied subsidies

Farmers who burn their harvest leftovers to prepare for the next cultivation may no longer receive government subsidies in a move aimed at reducing PM2.5 pollution.

The Biothai Foundation has revealed claims regarding the rapid proliferation of the Blackchin Tilapia fish species in Thailand, asserting that the invasive spread can be linked to a single source: the Yeesarn fish farm in Samut Sakhon’s Ampawa district, operated by Charoen Pokphand Foods (CPF).

Witoon Lianjamroon, the secretary-general of Biothai Foundation, underscored that CPF has been the sole private company authorized by the Fisheries Department to import Blackchin tilapia into Thailand since 2010. Bomb and gunfire injure four officers in Pattani

Exports see decline in June as agricultural trade suffers

Exports in June shrank by 0.3%, representing the first contraction in three months, due to the end of the season for fruit products, the Commerce Ministry said on Friday, adding that it still expected exports to grow overall this year.

Poonpong Naiyanapakorn, director-general of the Trade Policy and Strategy Office (TPSO), said Thailand’s exports in June 2024 decreased by 0.3% to US$24.7 billion while imports increased by 0.3% to $24.5 billion, resulting in a trade surplus of $218 million. Continued …
