JSCCIB raises Thailand GDP forecast to 1.6-2.0%
The Joint Standing Committee on Commerce, Industry and Banking (JSCCIB) has raised its forecast for Thailand’s 2026 economic growth to 1.6%-2.0%, supported by the 170-billion-baht “Thais Help Thais Plus” stimulus scheme.

Thailand’s quarterly GDP growth rate was 1.2% in the third quarter of 2025, rising to 2.5% in the fourth quarter, and further to 2.8% in the first quarter of 2026, according to the National Economic and Social Development Council (NESDC).
Judging from these figures, most people would conclude the economy is on the path to recovery, as higher growth rates are generally associated with stronger economic performance. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), said today that Thailand’s tourism situation had been affected by unrest in the Middle East, which had pushed up oil prices, increased the cost of goods, and affected the global economy.
As a result, TAT forecasts 33 million foreign tourists in 2026, generating B1.55 trillion in revenue, and 200.4 million domestic person-trips, generating B1.1 trillion.
