British lawyer latest to die in Laos alcohol poisoning tragedy

A British lawyer has become the latest fatality of alcoholic poisoning in Laos, taking the death toll to five people. Simone White is the tragic fifth victim in a series of suspected mass poisonings in Laos.

Kalasin’s Oldest Resident Passes Away at 121

Kalasin Province is mourning the passing of Ple Thongdaeng, affectionately known as the “Longevity Grandma,” who died on Nov. 16 at the age of 121. Her funeral was held at Wat Pa Non Kham, Ban Muang.

Ple gained national attention in 2019 when health officials identified her as one of four centenarians in Sahatsakhan District with excellent health and no chronic illnesses. Thailand’s household debt rises to Bt1.2 trillion

Thailand’s total household debt has reached 13.6 trillion baht as of the third quarter of 2024, according to a report released by the National Credit Bureau (NCB), highlighting the gravity of the situation. Non-performing loans (NPLs) were estimated at 1.2 trillion baht in the same period.
