Thailand’s economic outlook for 2024 and 2025 focuses on stability. Cabinet-approved budgets reflect prudent fiscal measures, projecting a deficit of Bt693 billion for 2023-2024. Despite global economic headwinds, exports are proving resilient, with November’s 4.9% surge fueled by a 17.5% rise in U.S. sales. The baht has gained significantly against the dollar since October.

As the cabinet finalized its budget plans for 2024 and 2025 this week there was encouraging news from the foreign tourism and export front. Thailand is poised to reach 28 million visitors in 2023. The Board of Investmens (BOI) has approved measures to promote investment to address the issue of PM2.5 particulate pollution, according to the organization’s secretary-general, Narit Therdsteerasukdi.

The measures involve expanding the scope of support through investment promotion measures for community and social development. It encompasses support for local organizations and groups of farmers to enhance environmental standards in communities. This would include forest management in targeted areas, including community forests, conservation forests, and national forest reserves, in order to alleviate the nationwide issue of PM2.5 particulate pollution. Economy in China is running low on fuel
