On Sunday, Rajabhakti Park in Hua Hin played host to over 500 cyclists for the “Cycling Local Tour, Enjoying Breeze, Nature, and History @Tha Sadet” event.

Suvarnabhumi’s SAT-1 terminal to soft launch Sept 28, boosting capacity by 33%

Suvarnabhumi International Airport, governed by Airports of Thailand (AoT), is set to soft launch its Satellite 1 (SAT-1) terminal on Sept. 28, following a successful full-scale trial involving 180 mock passengers and their luggage.

The trial aimed to evaluate operations at both the SAT-1 satellite passenger terminal and the primary terminal, with Thai Airways offering assistance by supplying cabin crew and aircraft for the process. Continued …

Prepare for two days of downpours, weather department warns

The Thai Meteorological Department today forecast heavy rainfall for 42 provinces and a 60%-70% chance of downpours in Bangkok.

The downpours are caused by a monsoon trough passing through the north and northeast. The east will be hardest hit and there is a risk of flooding in the region, the department said. A one-eyed stray puppy in Thailand has become the millionth animal to be neutered and vaccinated by the animal welfare organization Soi Dog Foundation.

Aptly named “Million”, the homeless puppy was taken in by one of the foundation’s mobile sterilization teams after she was found on the streets of Nakhon Si Thammarat, and soon after became the millionth animal to pass through its large-scale spay/neuter and vaccination program since its founding in 2003. Thailand’s Energy Policy and Planning Office (EPPO) will shortly propose its power-development plan (PDP) to Energy Minister Pirapan Salirathavibhaga, in the anticipation that electricity consumption in Thailand will be peaking sharply during the night by 2027, due to the increase in the number of electric vehicles in use.
