New emission laws: What drivers need to know

Thai netizens accused the government under Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin of stealing the spotlight from two foreigners who raised funds to build a bridge for children to cross in Koh Phayam, an island in the southern province of Ranong.

‘Parliament to consider increasing living allowance for underprivileged elderly

A proposal to increase the monthly living allowance for underprivileged elderly individuals to 3,000 baht (US$84.89) is set to be presented to Parliament, according to the House Committee on Social Welfare.

On Thursday, Thanakorn Kuptajit, the adviser to the Thai Alcohol Beverage Business Assn. (TABBA), petitioned the Thai government to consider revising the law prohibiting the sale of alcoholic beverages from 2-5 pm as it negatively impacted Thailand’s tourism.

First 4 weeks of January sees 28% higher foreign arrivals

Thailand has welcomed over 2.7 million overseas visitors from Jan. 1-28, a 27.8% jump compared to Jan. 1-31 last year, government spokesperson Chai Wacharonke said on Friday.
