The Hua Hin Saphan Pla fishing pier market returns this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The market on Hua Hin’s main fishing pier provides visitors with cool ocean breezes, and a selection of street food.
Summer storm warnings for most of Thailand today
People living in Bangkok and the rest of the country, with the exception of the south, are advised to brace for thunderstorms, strong winds, hail and possible lightning strikes today, as a result of summer storms, according to the Meteorological Department.
Places to be avoided are open fields, under big trees or unstable bill boards, said the department, as it advised people in these areas not to wear metallic ornaments or use their cell phones during thunderstorms. The Criminal Court on Wednesday approved a request by police investigators to further detain Sararat “Am” Rangsiwuthaporn, who is accused of killing a woman by putting cyanide in her food.

Lucky fisherman finds whale puke worth 3 million baht on Rayong beach
A lucky fisherman stumbled across three kilograms of rare whale puke – or ambergris – while taking a stroll on the beach in Rayong, eastern Thailand, on Sunday. If genuine, he can sell the “floating gold” for three million baht (US$87,931).
Ambergris (“gray amber” in French) is a rare and valuable material produced in the digestive system of some species of whales, including sperm whales. It is a solid waxy substance that is either regurgitated by or passes through the whale. Continued …
