Prayut bows out, nods to a new era dawning

An emotional departing statement from outgoing Prime Minister Prayut Chan Ocha suggested he was proud of leaving behind a record of stability, financial prudence and care for the vulnerable. It comes just hours before a decisive parliamentary meeting to elect the kingdom’s 30th prime minister with a stark choice between a new era or a potential political crisis.

Prayut highlighted his government’s record of stable management of the country and financial prudence, while always paying attention to the need to protect the vulnerable when it came to policy and decisions, including at times of crisis. Continued …

Senators Under Pressure Over Imminent Vote For PM

A number of senators have remained under pressure as a phenomenal voting of Move Forward leader Pita Limjaroenrat for prime minister is approaching on Thursday, said Move Forward secretary-general Chaithawat Tulathon Tuesday.

Some of the unelected legislators have been psychologically intimidated or even threatened to get blackmailed, while others have been offered concrete interests in exchange for their abstention from voting in a desperate bid to avert Pita’s elected premiership during Thursday’s joint House/Senate session, according to the Move Forward secretary-general. Top 6 Beaches in Thailand for the Perfect Retirement by the Sea

Do you want to retire in one of those places that looks like a postcard? I know you’ve seen those picture-perfect cards with the turquoise waters, white sands, and a single palm tree stretching toward the bluest sky. Those places do exist, even without the aid of Photoshop.

Not only are they real, but there are many countries in Asia where you can find those beaches. I spent weeks exploring some of the best beaches in Thailand and found six beach areas where you could send home those kinds of postcards, but with pictures you’ve taken yourself. Continued …

World job market on brink of ‘AI revolution’

The world’s wealthiest nations must urgently prepare for the impact of an imminent “AI revolution” that will change jobs, create new ones and make others disappear, the OECD said Tuesday.
