New elevated Hua Hin Train Station set to open on Dec 11
The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) has announced the opening of the new elevated Hua Hin train station, set to commence partial operations on Dec. 11.

China’s rail freight trail blazes historic route to Thailand
On Nov. 17, a Chinese freight train, packed with 35 cargo containers, embarked on its maiden journey to Thailand. This is the first official rail freight transport from China to Thailand, made possible through a collaborative effort between the Chinese government and Thai private sectors.

Kathin ceremony: Ancient, ‘uncertain’ tradition
In case you were wondering what all the commotion at local temples this weekend was about.
Kathin is a Buddhist festival that comes at the end of the rainy season and is usually held in October. Traditionally, Theravada Buddhist monks spend the rainy season in retreat at their pagodas and this festival marks the end of that period.
Kathin, or Kathina, is a Pali word referring to the wooden sewing frame used to measure the length and width of the fabric that the robes of Buddhist monks are cut from and held in place if assembled from scraps.
