Aussie mortgage broker golf summit to be held in Hua Hin

Mortgage brokers work long hours in their quest to build successful businesses and downtime can be hard to come by. With that in mind, broker growth strategist James McCracken, who runs The Successful Adviser, based in Melbourne, has organized a golf summit in Thailand Aug. 10-18.

Brokers who attend The Successful Adviser Golf Summit will get the opportunity to stay in a four-star hotel in the beach resort town of Hua Hin and play golf at some of the top golf courses in Thailand, including the Black Mountain Golf Club and Banyan Golf Club, ranked No.1 and 2, respectively. Anti-aging coffee to be studied as a potential healthcare product

With the mutual goal of developing healthcare innovations and high-quality for collaboration on the research and development of innovative healthcare products, knowledge and skill improvement, and brand building, Revomed Group has entered into a partnership with Mahidol University to develop healthcare products.

The first product under this cooperation will be the anti-aging coffee developed by faculty from the coffee sourced from a research farm in Nan province. The faculty’s Department of Nutrition has been conducting research into antioxidant levels in the beans from these farms and the results show that the ORAC or the level of antioxidants in the coffee equals 15 fresh tomatoes. Police chiefs suspended over alleged gambling links

The Prime Minister of Thailand suspended two top police chiefs of the Royal Thai Police (RTP) from their positions due to alleged internal conflict and connections to online gambling.

PM Srettha Thavisin yesterday transferred RTP Commissioner Torsak “Big Tor” Sukvimol and Deputy Commissioner Surachate “Big Joke” Hakparn, to temporary roles at the Prime Minister’s Office for 60 days. Police Gen. Kitrat Phanphet has been assigned as acting RTP commissioner. Continued …

500-billion-baht digital wallet green light

With a budget proposal of 3.48 trillion baht (US$96.5 billion) for the fiscal year under discussion, the government of Thailand is determined to proceed with a significant 500-billion-baht (US$13.8 billion) digital wallet handout scheme, according to Deputy Finance Minister Julapun Amornvivat. During the parliamentary debate, Julapun stated the possible necessity of securing a loan via a bill to finance the scheme.

The initiative, designed to provide 10,000 baht to each of the 50 million Thai citizens over six months, has raised concerns regarding its funding method, with critics branding it as fiscally reckless. PM fast-tracks business access to clean energy direct purchase

Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin has ordered the Energy Ministry to speed up measures to allow businesses to buy clean energy directly from generators such as solar farms, the government spokesman said on Wednesday.

The prime minister said that U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo had inquired about a direct power purchase agreement (PPA) during her visit to Thailand with a U.S. business delegation last week. Isuzu allocates Bt32 billion for Thailand EV investments

Yokohama, Japan-based automaker Isuzu Motors plans to spend ¥1 trillion (240 billion baht) to fuel its investments through 2030, with part of the budget allocated for battery cell and electric pickup manufacturing in Thailand, which will serve as the company’s electric vehicle (EV) export base.

Tuna, prawns and crab from Thailand could be removed from supermarket shelves in the West if the Southeast Asian country waters down laws designed to protect seafarers, say European officials.

Power off plea for Earth Hour on Saturday

Bangkok Gov. Chadchart Sittipunt is inviting Bangkokians to stop using electricity for one hour this Saturday to help reduce global warming, along with 7,000 other cities around the world taking part in “Earth Hour 2024.”
