Thailand is currently an aged society. The Kasikorn Research Center projects that by 2024, Thailand will have approximately 14.6 million people aged 60 and over. However, savings to support an aging society remain a significant challenge for Thai society.

Officer Killed, Hostages Freed After 8-Hour Standoff in Bangkok Suburb

After an intense eight-hour hostage standoff with police in Bangkok, a man was found dead in a house, with the confrontation tragically resulting in the death of one officer and the injury of another.

The ordeal began last night at 9.35pm, when police from the Tha Kham police station responded to reports of a man, named Boonma, holding his family hostage at a house on Kanchana-Rama 2 Road. Ambitious zoo plans unfold

A deed has been granted for a 300-rai plot in the Rangsit Khlong Hok area of Pathum Thani’s Thanya Buri district, to be used for a new zoo.

This will replace the 80-year-old Dusit Zoo in Bangkok, which closed in 2018. As it is three times larger, the new zoo will provide a more natural environment for animals, with more green and safe spaces, said Attapon Srihayrun, director of the Zoological Park Organization of Thailand under Royal Patronage in July 2022.
